Les ados et les marques

 Voir et être vu, un enjeu pour les ados et les professionnels qui les ciblent

 

« Les marques sont des outils symboliques dont les jeunes disposent pour construire leur identité ; celle qu’ils choisissent pour eux-mêmes, mais aussi – et surtout – qu’ils donnent à voir aux autres(1)« Le culte des marques des ados : du profane au sacré », introduction à Marques cultes et culte des marques chez les jeunes. Qui travaille avec des adolescents ne peut faire fi de cette relation : relever, analyser leurs interactions avec les marques, comment elles parviennent (ou pas) à les séduire, pourquoi ils les choisissent, permet de mieux comprendre les jeunes et leurs attentes. Si les appellations se succèdent – générations X, Y et Z – les adolescents sont toujours perçus comme difficiles à cerner. En construction, ils constituent un des publics cibles des bibliothécaires, des éditeurs jeunesse, des libraires et des enseignants, qui souhaiteraient les accompagner vers la citoyenneté et les ouvrir à la culture. Toucher voire fidéliser ce public contribue à assurer le lectorat de demain des éditeurs et des libraires. Plus largement, cette cible intéresse un grand nombre de marques : son pouvoir de prescription, son pouvoir d’achat actuel et/ou à venir est à gagner(2)F. Logos, univers, slogans, campagnes publicitaires, images de marque… Comment capter l’attention et s’assurer l’adhésion d’une clientèle, d’un public, d’un lectorat, mouvant et volatil comme celui des adolescents ? Quels discours, quelles valeurs, quelles stratégies les marques déploient-elles pour les séduire, autour des 4 C, « communication, collaboration, connexion et créativité » qui caractériseraient les adolescents d’aujourd’hui, ceux de la « génération C » ?
